Top Gun: Guardiola makes Arsenal his first choice in England

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Arsenal would be his first choice should he return to management in the Premier League, according to Goal.com.

The Spaniard has been linked with English clubs Chelsea,..
Manchester United and Manchester City after leaving Barcelona to take a year-long sabbatical.

Big spending Paris St. Germain have also entered the chase for Europe's most wanted manager.

He is expected to consider offers in the New Year with Arsenal reported to be top of his wish list in this country.

“Guardiola’s preference in England is Arsenal,” a source told Goal.com. “The club are aware he would be interested in the job in 2013."

With the Gunners coming under increasing pressure, especially following last night's upset to lowly Bradford in the Capital One Cup, reports of Guardiola's interest is likely to please supporters.

The Spaniard won 14 trophies, including two Champions League crowns and three La Liga titles, during his successful four-year tenure at Barcelona - by contrast, Arsene Wenger has gone seven years without silverware.

Chelsea were thought to be favourites to land Guardiola given owner Roman Abramovich's no-expense-spared obsession with the 41-year-old.

However, the source claims: “Guardiola doesn’t want to go to Chelsea. He is worried about the lack of stability. He also has a good relationship with Wenger dating back to when he started doing his coaching badges at Arsenal.”

Chelsea could turn to Jurgen Klopp if they fail to lure Guardiola to Stamford Bridge next summer.

The two Manchester clubs remain in contention should Sir Alex Ferguson decide to retire at United following his 71st birthday while City could use the drawing power of former Barcelona chiefs Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain.
