It turns out the rumors are true: Harry Styles is going solo. Styles' first solo single "Don't Let Me Go" has made its way onto the Internet, though this may or may not have happened through illegitimate means. (Translation: Listen now before it gets taken down from YouTube.)


The track features British musician Sam McCarthy, who tweeted early Thursday morning, "Wow! Thanks for all the nice tweets about the song. Harry did most of the words I did the music." "Don't Let Me Go" is probably what you'd expect from the wild-haired One Direction lothario — a piano-heavy ballad about being madly in love. (Unexpectedly though, there is a guitar solo in the bridge.)

For you One Direction fans out there who see this as bad news because it points to a potential breakup, fear not. The five guys signed a contract back in January guaranteeing the existence of One Direction for at least another three years, so you can embrace solo Styles with all the irrational screams and tears you would for his flagship band.
