But there was nothing dated about actress Michelle Dockery's look on Thursday when she arrived at the Venice Film Festival.
In fact she stood out thanks to her vibrant red frock and super sleek bob which looked like it had been dyed darker.

She even accessorised to perfection, holding a small black clutch bag and matching high heels which accentuated her long legs.

Michelle wore minimal make-up as she showed off her natural beauty while rubbing shoulders with the likes of Carey Mulligan at the bash.
Carey wore a pair of quirky tortoise shell frames to the Miu Miu Women's Tales premiere on Thursday alongside Dockery.
Paired with a simple black and white collared dress, the British actress was centre of attention at the fashionable screening.

Carey was lending her star power to the collection of short films made by international female directors in collboration with Miu Miu for the independent film show Venice Days.
Also in attendance was American actress Gabrielle Union, with her boyfriend, Miami Heat basketball player Dwayne Wade.
Gabrielle and Dwayne have been together since 2007, and they looked loved up as ever as they took to the Venice red carpet at the 70th international film festival.

Hiam Abbass, Massy Tadjedin, Giada Colagrande, Lucrecia Martel, and Zoe Cassavetes are the other female directors involved with the Women's Tales short films and their work will be showcased on Thursday in Venice.
