She's now the wild child of the pop industry, with rarely a day going by that she doesn't cause controversy one way or another.
But before Miley Cyrus hit the bigtime, she was simply an angelic little girl, as footage of her television debut aged two proves.
Miley was surprised with the footage during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday night.

Jay Leno surprises Miley Cyrus with adorable footage
In the scenes, Miley is seen toddling into the shot as her father Billy Ray Cyrus completed an interview on Nashville show Music City Tonight.
Wearing a cute and colourful dress and with her hair surrounding her face in ringlets, Miley walked on pushing her Willie Nelson doll in her pram before being picked up by the show's hosts.
Sitting on the female presenter's lap, Miley was then encouraged to show off her party trick - how she could roll her eyes - on camera.
Clearly thrilled with Leno showing her the footage, a now 21-year-old Miley couldn't resist breaking out the party trick once again during the interview on Thursday night.
Miley also took the opportunity to explain her dad's comments during the show that she thought the Willie Nelson doll was her boyfriend.
She said: 'It's weird when guys ask me who was my first boyfriend and I have to tell people it's Willie Nelson and tell I have to go into the whole story.
'My dad loves to tell people that, but out of context.
'I'm like, "Dad you've got to tell the whole story or it's really weird". It's really creepy.'
..
While Miley was clearly a natural on camera, even at such a young age, it wasn't until Billy Ray took her to see a production of Mamma Mia! in 2001, when she was nine, that she told him she had decided to pursue a career in acting and singing.
Now Miley is one of the most famous singers in the world and, despite her own controversy in her life, isn't afraid to dish out advice to her fellow popstars.
During the interview with Leno, Miley was asked if she had any tips for Justin Bieber, to which she replied: 'You've got a lot of money. Pay people to make sure you don't get in trouble, and party at your house.
