Πολύνεκρη καραμπόλα στην Τουρκία -At least 10 killed in multiple-vehicle collision in Central Anatolia

Τουλάχιστον 10 άνθρωποι σκοτώθηκαν και 11 τραυματίστηκαν - Δύο από τους τραυματίες νοσηλεύονται σε σοβαρή κατάσταση - Όλα άρχισαν όταν ένα φορτηγό πέρασε στο αντίθετο ρεύμα

Τουλάχιστον 10 άνθρωποι σκοτώθηκαν και 11 τραυματίστηκαν σε καραμπόλα που έγινε στην εθνική οδό της Κεντρικής Ανατολίας το πρωί της 9ης Απριλίου, κοντά στην πόλη του Ικονίου.

Το περιστατικό έγινε όταν ένα φορτηγό πέρασε στην αντίθετη λωρίδα και συγκρούστηκε με ένα λεωφορείο και ένα άλλο φορτηγό. Πολλά αυτοκίνητα στη συνέχεια ενεπλάκησαν στο πολύνεκρο ατύχημα. Μάρτυρες υποστήριξαν ότι ο οδηγός του φορτηγού αποκοιμήθηκε στο τιμόνι στο τιμόνι του.

Δύο από τους τραυματίες νοσηλεύονται σε σοβαρή κατάσταση.

At least 10 people have been killed and 11 injured in a collision involving multiple vehicles on a Central Anatolian highway on the morning of April 9, near the city of Konya.

The accident took place after a truck passed onto the opposite lane before crashing with a bus and another van. Other cars were also involved in the accident. Witnesses claimed that the truck driver had fallen asleep at his steering wheel.

Those injured in the accident were transferred to hospitals in Konya. Two people remain in serious condition.

The accident is the third this year on Central Anatolian highways to cause a huge number of fatalities. Two deadly accidents in late January due to ice had already drawn attention to the dangerous conditions of the highways in Turkey’s interior regions.
