Georgia Meloni uses the Greek Word “Meraki” To Explain Her Program

 Η Τ.Μελόνι εξυμνεί τους Έλληνες για τη λέξη «μεράκι»: «Εξαιρετική λέξη – Να κάνεις κάτι με την ψυχή σου»

Τι ανέφερε στο οικονομικό συνέδριο του ιδρύματος Γκουίντο Κάρλι

Στην πολύτιμη σημασία της ελληνικής λέξης «μεράκι» αναφέρθηκε, ως παράδειγμα προς μίμηση, η Ιταλίδα πρωθυπουργός Τζόρτζια Μελόνι κατά την παρέμβασή της στο οικονομικό συνέδριο του ιδρύματος Γκουίντο Κάρλι.

Πιο αναλυτικά, η Ιταλίδα πρωθυπουργός υπογράμμισε:

«Πρέπει να απελευθερώσουμε τις καλύτερες δυνάμεις που η Ιταλία διαθέτει. Να κάνουμε τις θαρραλέες επιλογές που δεν έγιναν επί πάρα πολλά χρόνια.

Είναι η εποχή κατά την οποία θα έπρεπε να χρησιμοποιήσουμε εκείνη την προσέγγιση που οι Έλληνες προσδιορίζουν τέλεια, με μια εξαιρετική λέξη: “μεράκι”, δηλαδή να κάνεις κάτι με όλο σου το είναι, με πάθος, με την ψυχή σου».

Στη συνέχεια η Τζόρτζια Μελόνι πρόσθεσε:

«Είναι μια προσέγγιση η οποία στη φάση αυτή της κρίσης που ζούμε, με τη βαθμιαία έξοδο από την πανδημία αλλά και τη δύσκολη διεθνή οικονομική συγκυρία, μπορεί και πρέπει να προσφέρει ευκαιρίες στο έθνος μας».

Να σημειωθεί πως η νέα Ιταλίδα πρωθυπουργός διακρίνεται από τον φιλελληνισμό της και αυτό το αποδεικνύει συνεχώς, τόσο με δηλώσεις όπως αυτή, όσο και με τις θέσεις της κατά της Τουρκίας  και του επεκτατισμού της.

EDITOR’S NOTE: As you will see in the news in the second part of this post, Georgia Meloni used the Greek word “Meraki” – one of the many untranslatable and unique Greek words like “filotimo” – to describe the approach to applying her party’s program in Italy… The etymology of “meraki” is lost in Turkish and Arabic… But we, primarily medieval and modern Greeks, defined its meaning best.  By “Meraki”  is meant more any occupation that involves passion, special diligence, and dedication. From the same root also arose the miracle worker, the man who does not leave things to chance but pays great attention to detail.

Today, we can claim that this foreign passion is an integral element of Greek life. Passion is one of the reasons that the Greek people, despite the difficulties they face, still not only survive but also give happy meaning to their days and nights.

Passion exists everywhere, and especially where hearts are always open and senses alert. It is a salute to the plight of the human condition, a lasting victory over the threat of loneliness, a triumph over all that is miserable and processional. Ladies and gentlemen, passion is a good answer, whatever the question.
