When Elizabeth Hurley arrived at the London premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral with the film's star, her then boyfriend Hugh Grant, nobody knew who the 29-year-old was.
By the time she left, she was a bona fide pin up thanks - funnily enough - to a few strategically placed safety pins and an impressive cleavage.
What she does best: With her love life apparently in turmoil, Elizabeth Hurley once more hid her distress in a fabulous dress at an Estee Lauder event in London on Wednesday
Stardom came easily to the glossy minx from that point; as did a lucrative and enduring gig with cosmetics firm, Estee Lauder.
So with Hurley's engagement to cricketer Shane Warne apparently hanging in the balance, it makes sense that Elton John's pal went back to what she knows best and wowed in two stunning dresses at her yearly breast cancer event for the company.
And she was quite the trooper, sparkling without the aid of her sapphire engagement ring.
The 48-year-old beauty looked glum on Tuesday as Warne preoccupied himself with golf in Scotland despite apparent trouble in their hitherto blissful union.
Show must go on: Hurley is passionate about this event
Spoiled for choices: No wonder she changed at least twice, Liz Tweeted a picture of the dresses for the event
Perfect partner: She also uploaded a picture of the bag choices
La Hurley put her best foot forward to attend the event at London's Soho Hotel.
The mother-of-one, who knows more than anyone that the right dress can really turn your day around, accessorised with a winning smile that remained plastered on her face as she arrived at the shindig which she helms yearly.
Despite looking to be be at the slender end of her weight spectrum, the swimwear designer filled out the first and relatively simple hot pink dress beautifully.
The Basingstoke born model kept her hair and make up simple and carried a glittering clutch bag, but despite the overcast day she had a pair of her trademark large sunglasses covering her eyes.
In the pink: Hurley smiled as she attended the Estee Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness 2013 event at the Soho Hotel on Wednesday, despite apparent difficulties in her romantic life
If you're going through hell... keep going: Elizabeth put her best foot forward for the important event
Flawless: The swimwear designer looked incredible as always, showing no sign of personal strain
Once inside the famous Soho hotel, she slipped into a more ornate hot pink number that was embellished with sequins and clung to her curves despite it's '60s shift shape.
Earlier in the day, the Twitter addict uploaded a selection of blush, cerise and fuchsia dresses and matching bags for the event - which of course takes it's colour scheme from the pink breast cancer ribbon.
Hopefully the worthy and enjoyable event took the star's mind off her current romantic problems.
Warne was getting his putt on at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Kingsbarns, Scotland on Tuesday, where Hurley's ex Hugh Grant was coincidentally practising his swing.
She was hundreds of miles away back in London and not wearing the huge sapphire engagement ring given to her by the Australian cricketer.
Just the previous day, Shane and Liz were spotted heading to lunch alongside Shane’s three children, Brooke, Summer and Jackson.
Blushing: Hurley had an array of pink goodies to chose from ahead of the event
Walking towards their restaurant of choice - Santa Lucia off the Fulham Road - the group looked in high spirits despite the speculation surrounding the state of their relationship, with Elizabeth seeming particularly tactile with the other family members.
Chatting away to Shane’s three children from his former marriage to ex-wife Simone Callahan, Liz looked very comfortable.
The children, who were joined by Brooke's friend Amy, also seemed happy to see her and embraced before they all made their way back to Liz’s London pad.
It has been claimed that the former cricketer's continued friendship with his ex-wife was the real reason behind the differences that have erupted between the couple.
Estranged lovers: Warne and Hurley looked worlds apart as they went about their respective days on Tuesday
Look who's here? Elizabeth's ex-partner Hugh Grant was also enjoying a practice round at St Andrew on Tuesday
Liz jetted back to London on Sunday following a recent trip to New York, and was still without her engagement ring.
But despite the apparent issues in their relationship, the 44-year-old former sportsman is said to be determined to save the couple's relationship, with friends claiming the romance shouldn't be 'written off' just yet.
While Elizabeth appeared to confirm she and the cricketer were no longer together by telling her followers that the events were 'too raw and personal to share right now', Warne seemed to directly contradict her by insisting that the pair hadn't 'thrown in the towel just yet'.
Happy families: On Monday, Shane and Liz enjoyed
a surprise reunion by putting on a united front for a day of family fun
with Shane¿s three children, Brooke, Summer and Jackson
Awkward! Liz was tactile with other members of
the group, but seemed to be keeping her distance from Shane as they went
about their day
Meanwhile, Elizabeth said: 'Apologies to loyal followers for Twitter silence on recent events. Too raw and personal to share right now.'
Warne and ex-wife Simone split in 2005 amid allegations that the sportsman had been unfaithful.
However, just two years later, the pair gave their relationship another go after Simone decided to take him back.
Their split was later confirmed in 2010, when Shane debuted his romance with Elizabeth.
In happier times: Shane and Elizabeth first debuted their romance to the world back in 2010
