Reuters: Μεγάλη πυρκαγιά σε ξενοδοχείο στο Ντουμπάι...AL JAZEERA: Fire engulfs Dubai tower before New Year celebrations

Μεγάλη σε έκταση πυρκαγιά ξέσπασε το απόγευμα της παραμονής Πρωτοχρονιάς στο ξενοδοχείο «The Address Hotel» στο Ντουμπάι των Ηνωμένων Αραβικών Εμιράτων, κοντά στον πύργο Μπουρτζ Χαλίφα, το υψηλότερο κτήριο στον κόσμο, όπως μεταδίδει το Reuters.

Σύμφωνα με το RT, η φωτιά καίει σε 20 ορόφους του κτηρίου, ενώ μέχρι στιγμής, δεν υπάρχουν αναφορές για τραυματίες, ούτε και έχουν γίνει γνωστά τα αίτια της πυρκαγιάς.   
Αναφορές σε μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης κάνουν λόγο για πανικόβλητους ανθρώπους που έτρεχαν για να απομακρυνθούν από την περιοχή.

Fire engulfs Dubai tower before New Year celebrations 

A fire has broken out at a Dubai skyscraper just hours before New Year's celebrations were to be held in the city.

Videos posted on Twitter on Thursday showed the 63-story Address Hotel in the Downtown area of the city engulfed in flames with hundreds of people fleeing its vicinity.

The Dubai media office's Twitter account said police had closed off the affected area and emergency teams were attending.

The fire started on the 20th floor of the building and only affected the outside structure, the media office added.

UAE Civil Defence officials said there were no casualties resulting from the blaze and New Year's celebrations would continue as normal, the Reuters news agency reported.
