 Υπό την πίεση της Δύσης έχουν δημιουργηθεί ορισμένες δομές στην Ουκρανία, «οι οποίες υποτίθεται ότι θα έλεγχαν την καταπολέμηση της διαφθοράς ή θα εκτελούσαν κάποιο είδος λειτουργίας κατά της διαφθοράς ή θα έλεγχαν τις διαδικασίες κατά της διαφθοράς», δήλωσε η Μαρία Ζαχάροβα, προσθέτοντας ότι αυτοί οι θεσμοί «δεν έχουν καμία σχέση με την καταπολέμηση της διαφθοράς».

Hungary’s Orban to block EU budget unless funds released

 BUDAPEST: Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban threatened on Saturday to torpedo the European Union’s new seven-year budget unless Brussels unlocks all suspended EU funds.

The nationalist leader has for years clashed with Brussels over migration, LGBTQ rights and what critics see as eroding democracy in Hungary. The EU has suspended billions of euros earmarked for Hungary while a rule-of-law dispute drags on.

Greece mulls water-saving moves as heatwave intensifies

 ATHENS: Greece on Wednesday announced plans to “urgently” overhaul its water management as temperatures continued to rise during a week-long heatwave.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the cabinet had discussed plans to make water companies more “viable,” noting that reserves in Athens were down 50 percent compared to three years ago.

 ATHENS: A wildfire burned through a northern suburb of the Greek capital of Athens on Saturday and some residents were ordered to evacuate, the country’s Fire Service reported.

Residents of the town of Kryoneri, 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) northeast of Athens received 3 SMS messages to evacuate to safe areas, Fire Service spokesman Vassilis Vathrakoyannis told reporters.

Jordan dispatches trucks with flour as starvation spreads in war-torn Gaza

 LONDON: Jordan has dispatched dozens of food trucks to the Palestinian coastal enclave of the Gaza Strip this week, with the latest delivery of flour on Wednesday to help Palestinians amid the Israeli military campaign in the territory.
