RussiaToday-Video-News:Nerve Attack: Syria govt, rebels play blame game over chemical weapon use.

A leading UN investigator says there are strong suspicions rebels in Syria have used the deadly nerve gas Sarin during the civil war. But Carla del Ponte also insists she has seen no evidence the government has resorted to the use of chemical weapons.
Those claims are in contrast to an earlier statement by the U.S. who has accused President Assad's forces of using them, and threatened to take action. Eric Denece, from the French Centre for Intelligence Studies, told us Syrian rebels may have received chemical weapons from abroad


Syria says Israel has effectively declared war, after its planes bombed targets in Damascus, the second airstrikes in as many days. Syria's state media says Israeli rockets targeted a military research centre on the outskirts of the capital. Video footage and eye witness accounts suggest the attacks hit weapons dumps, triggering large explosions.

Syria says a number of people were killed and wounded amid widespread destruction. The Arab League has condemned the strikes and demanded the UN Security Council act to stop any more. The League say there has been a "dangerous violation of an Arab state's sovereignty". Article 2 of the United Nations Charter bans the use of force against the territorial integrity of any state. Four people were killed and hundreds injured as a rally in the capital of Bangladesh turned violent. Police used tear gas to disperse thousands of Islamist protesters in the streets of Dhaka who demanded execution for "blasphemous" blogging


Iraq is suffering some of the worst violence since the withdrawal of U.S. troops in 2011. The UN says more than 700 people were killed in Iraq last month alone. Clashes between security forces and Sunni protesters started in Kirkuk, sparking a wave of violence that quickly spread. Many Iraqis accuse the government of corruption and political unrest, and want the Prime Minister to resign.
