The Israeli cabinet has given the go-ahead to a bill which, if passed, will put any peace resolution with the Palestinians to a referendum. Prime Minister Netanyahu's government has appealed to lawmakers, asking them to greenlight the motion as soon as possible.

A UN inquiry into the use of chemical weapons in Syria has got off the ground - as investigators and Damascus officials finally reach an agreement. The probe was stalled as the UN demanded full access to Syrian facilities - which the authorities denied. And, another breakthough has been reached in New York. A key rebel group has agreed to take part in a peace conference aimed at resolving the two-year war in Syria - after meeting with Security Council members. But, as Marina Portnaya explains, there are conditions attached.
