Germany will be electing a new parliament this weekend, and it's promising to be a close race. With no party heading for an outright majority, coalition talks are likely, with outsider factions possibly having a decisive influence on what the Bundestag looks like, come next week. RT's Peter Oliver attended a rally of one of the parties that is now, unexpectedly, set to make a crucial difference.



As the UN Independent Commission on Syria releases yet another report, one thing is painfully clear: both sides have committed countless war crimes and atrocities, with no end in sight to the hostilities. Human rights watch claims there is evidence that Bahraini security forces routinely detain and abuse children suspected of participating in anti-government protests. That's according to a report, published today. Here we have a quote 'Information recently obtained from victims, family members, and local rights activists suggests that Bahraini authorities often hold children for long periods in detention and subject them to similar forms of mistreatment as adult detainees, including beatings and threats of torture.' Nicholas McGeehan, one of the authors of this press release, told RT some of the alarming details.

The White House insists the rockets used in the attack, could only have belonged to loyalist forces. However, the UN findings state that the sarin-tipped warheads may have been improvised... and the report did not pinpoint the sites from where they were launched, at residential areas of Damascus.

Meanwhile, a prominent group of former U.S. security officials had warned the White House about intelligence reports from the war zone, indicating that radical rebel factions are in possession of chemical weapons. One of them - Pentagon veteran Michael Maloof - gave RT the details...
